Q:
The #43 has a lot of history behind it. How do you feel about driving such a legendary car?
A:
It is neat to be a part of it and will be even more exciting when we get into victory lane. I think it will sink in. We have all seen the #43 for so many years but it has not been in victory lane in a long time. If we can get there... it would be awesome.

Q:
Derek K from Holstein, IA.
Can you describe if there was a specific moment that you decided that you wanted to make racing a professional career?
A:
“There probably isn’t one specific moment. I grew up watching my brother Terry race, and I just wanted to be like him. He was out racing with my Dad and I wanted to follow in those footsteps. I started racing in Quarter Midgets and we eventually moved to North Carolina. Once there I started racing Late Models while I was working on my brother’s team. That was just a lot of fun. I’ve been fortunate enough to make a career out of it. That’s been a blessing and I’ve had a lot of fun with it.”

John from Valley Stream, NY
Hey Bobby great run this year. How often do you visit the shops in Level Cross, and are you like me that it feels like sacred ground? Thank you and good luck.
A:
“Thanks John. I’m at the shop two or three times during the week. We are on the road Thursday through Sunday, so I guess I’m at the shop as much as possible. Petty Enterprises isn’t too far from where I live. I’ve worked at shops where it’s a pretty long drive from where I live. Petty Enterprises is pretty close right now. I’m there talking with Robbie Loomis and The King. I like being around the guys and seeing how we can get better. I like going to the shop. I don’t think I’m a stranger there.”

Q:
What’s it like racing the ‘43’?
Jay C, Danville VA
A:
“The ‘43’ is a pretty special number. Obviously Richard made it famous by winning a lot of races in it. There are a lot of fans of Petty Enterprises, Richard Petty and the number ‘43’. I think those fans are ready to see it back in victory lane too. We are working hard to get it back there. It will make that more special to win when we win.”

Q:
What’s it like growing up in a racing family?
Allison P, Harrington DE
A:
“We are racing a lot. Terry races, I race and my nephew Justin races. My whole family is pretty involved in it. My mom and dad are pretty involved. They are a big part of it. It’s something that I grew up around. Terry was racing since I can remember. That really made me want to race too.
“We didn’t do a lot with other things. We went to a lot of tracks and that’s where we were a lot. I liked it, so it worked out for me.”

Q:
What makes Petty Enterprises different?
Fran Y, Indianapolis, IN
A:
“They really make you feel part of the family at Petty Enterprises. There are a lot of great people that really want to win. You can’t go out and hire ‘heart’ in a team. That’s just something that you have or don’t. There is a lot of that at Petty Enterprises. I think it bleeds over to the sponsors and the fans too. We have loyal sponsors and fans. That’s pretty important.”
